Cookie Policy
Last updated October 5, 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones whatjudysays.com places on your device, why, and how you can control them. It does not cover how we handle personal data generally — that is in the Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Each one carries the name of the site that set it, a lifetime, and usually a random identifier. Session cookies expire when you close the browser; persistent cookies stay until their lifetime ends or you delete them. First-party cookies are set by us; third-party cookies are set by a provider working on our behalf. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, serve the same purposes and are covered here too.
2. What we use them for
- Continuity — remembering your journey so you can close the tab and come back where you left off, and connecting it to your purchase.
- Authentication — keeping you signed in after you open a sign-in link.
- Analytics — understanding which screens are used and where the product loses people, so we can improve it.
- Payment security — Whop, our payment processor, and the fraud-prevention services it relies on use their own cookies and similar technologies to make the payment work and to detect fraud.
- Advertising measurement, when it is enabled — see section 4.
3. The cookies and storage we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| visitor_id | Continuity — identifies your journey | First-party cookie | 1 year |
| better-auth.* | Authentication — your signed-in session | First-party cookie | 90 days |
| mixpanel (local storage) | Analytics — the same journey identifier and the screens you have seen | First-party browser storage | Until cleared |
| roastmychat_discount_start | Remembers when an offer’s countdown started, so it does not restart | First-party browser storage | Until cleared |
| roastmychat:entry-attribution | Advertising measurement — the campaign that brought you, for this visit | First-party session storage | Until the tab is closed |
| linkedin:* (local storage) | Advertising measurement — remembers which conversion was already sent, to avoid repeats | First-party browser storage | Until cleared |
| Whop payment form | Payment and fraud prevention on the payment form, by Whop and the services it relies on (such as Stripe, hCaptcha and HUMAN) | Third-party | Set by each provider |
| LinkedIn (li_*, bcookie and others) | Advertising measurement, when enabled — matches a conversion to an ad interaction | Third-party (LinkedIn) | Set by LinkedIn |
| [To complete for What Judy Says: any cookie or storage the product adds, or remove this row.] | |||
Third-party cookies are described in each provider’s own policy — for Whop, its privacy policy. None of our first-party cookies or storage holds your name or your email address.
4. Advertising measurement
When advertising measurement is enabled, we use LinkedIn conversion pixels to measure key steps of the journey. LinkedIn may use its own cookies to match these events to an ad interaction. We do not give these pixels your email address or what you enter in the Service. LinkedIn describes its cookies and their lifetimes in its Cookie Policy. Server-side advertising measurement is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. How to control cookies
Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies and local storage in their settings. Blocking visitor_id means the product cannot remember your journey between visits; blocking the session cookie means you will need a fresh sign-in link each time. Guides for the main browsers:
6. Changes
As the Service evolves, the cookies we use may change. The date at the top changes when this policy does.
